Babus Camp

Babu’s Camp Mkomazi is an intimate luxurous tented camp in the newly gazetted Mkomazi Game Reserve in North Eastern Tanzania. It is the first and only permanent tented camp in this Reserve and the only facility that offers accommodation for tourists inside the park. Mkomazi has only few visitors a year, making Babu’s Camp the ideal destination for those discerning guests who prefer the experience of peace and solitude while enjoying the parks beauty and wildlife.

Accommodation is in only 5 large, walk-in luxury safari tents. The tents are each measuring 10m long and comfortably furnished with wooden bed, wardrobe, changing area, safari chairs and a writing desk. Each tent has an own ensuite bathroom with flush toilets and an open air hot showers.

The dining tent offers ample seating inside and out on its verandahs as well as a well equipped bar.

Electricity is provided by a silenced generator (220 Volt, 07:00-09:00 and 18:30-23:00 daily), which provides lighting throughout the camp and in the tents.

As a traditional safari camp, there is no email or phone communication for guests. The camp is equipped with an HF radio in the event of an emergency.

Walking Safaris and Night Game Drives can be arranged upon request with advanced notice.

The camp offers laundry service.
